Israeli Airstrikes Kill Ten Palestinians in Gaza

Today, at least ten Palestinians lost their lives in Israeli bombings that targeted a house and tents of displaced people in western Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip. Local sources and witnesses reported that Israeli aircraft carried out the attacks in the coastal area of Al-Mawasi.

The Palestinian Civil Defense confirmed that eight people, including women and children, were killed in the attack on the house, and their bodies were taken to the hospital. In another bombing in the same area, two children died and ten were injured following an attack on the tents of displaced people.

Al-Mawasi extends from the west of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip to the outskirts of Al-Nuseirat in the center. It is considered a humanitarian area to which the Israeli army suggests that Gaza residents relocate due to it being deemed safe.

For its part, the Israel Defense Forces reported that a day earlier they carried out attacks on more than 120 targets belonging to Hamas and Hezbollah in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. This offensive is part of Israel's retaliation for Hamas's incursion at the southern border of Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the deaths of around 1,200 people and the capture of about 250 as hostages.

According to Gaza's health authorities, the number of Palestinians who have died in the recent Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 43,712.
